About the Playbook

The Cincinnati OH-KY-IN Metropolitan Statistical Area's (MSA) Regional Priority Climate Action Plan (CAP) is one of the first steps our region will take to leverage funding opportunities to build upon our existing energy and climate preparedness planning. Given that our region includes 16 unique counties, we will need your help engaging the entire region. Through this collaborative effort, we will make sure communities throughout the region can access state, local, federal, and philanthropic grants to improve energy efficiency, invest in quality infrastructure, and reduce harmful emissions in our communities.

Through the Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) program, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) offers grant funds to create strategies for reducing greenhouse gasses (GHG) and other pollutants. The completion of our priority CAPwas on March 1, 2024 and will focus on regional priority areas. The full plan is to be completed by in 2025.

The overarching goal of this plan, and the process of drafting it, is to generate broad ownership and buy-in by every community and stakeholder in our 16-county region. Public engagement will be a central activity of the planning process, offering multiple avenues for involvement.
