Green School Yards

The ThriveTogether Sustainability Playbook for Greater Cincinnati features a series of Implementation Measures for the community called the Priority Climate Action Plan.
This table of strategies was compiled from the direct input of shareholders in the region, gathered primarily on the Go Vocal platform.
With a diverse and varied region, robust public engagement is the central mechanism that formulates the planning and implementation process.

Proposed Implementation Measures for Green School Yards from the Priority Climate Action Plan include:
- Create a fiscally-positive revolving loan fund or grant opportunity to finance energy-efficient and/or solar improvements for local and county public entities (governments, schools, libraries, park districts, etc.) in the region.
- Partner with local schools, governments, and park districts to implement composting programs.
- Support education and workforce development to implement low emission AG and food service / rescue

Please share your insights on our existing implementation measures or submit new ideas below on what can be done to improve Green School Yards in your community.
Do you have an idea you're hoping to get off the ground in your community? Do you want to see more gardens or stormwater infrastructure or trails or other projects happen in your school? Or more environmental literacy or family engagement or physical activity at your school?
Share your idea or questions here -- and don't forget to share what community/school district you're based in!
