Community Advisory Group at City of Forest Park

Groundwork Ohio River Valley in partnership with Green Umbrella and the City of Forest Park aimed to engage Forest Park residents on climate impacts in their neighborhood through a series of neighborhood climate planning workshops through their Community Advisory Group (CAG) of Climate Safe Neighborhoods (CSN). During this phase, we worked to recruit passionate residents to be apart of the CAG. We encouraged everyone to come with an open mind, come with ideas to create a healthier neighborhood, and be open to new connections within their neighborhood. The CAG members are compensated to create city neighborhood-level plan based on the existing environmental and socio-economic data to justify projects necessary for the community including air quality degradation, storm water flooding, and industrial activity, among others. During this phase, we developed presentation materials for the group convening's and collaborated with other partners to showcase current initiates already taking place in Forest Park.
