Community Advisory Group at City of Forest Park

Groundwork Ohio River Valley in partnership with Green Umbrella and the City of Forest Park engaged through a series of neighborhood climate planning workshops through their Community Advisory Group (CAG) of Climate Safe Neighborhoods (CSN). The 5 week workshop helped the residents to learn more about climate impacts and developed a resiliency plan. Here is workbook for the workshop for more information. The CAG members were compensated to create city neighborhood-level plan based on the existing environmental and socio-economic data to justify projects necessary for the community including air quality degradation, storm water flooding, and industrial activity, among others. The community members were trained through workshops on climate factors, health impacts, climate mitigation, and adaptation plans.
