Climate Safe Neighborhoods

Climate Safe Neighborhoods (CSN) is a national effort through Groundwork USA to identify neighborhoods that are more vulnerable to the effects of climate change because of racial and social injustices, engage frontline resident leaders and partners, and ignite action toward climate resilience.

In Greater Cincinnati, Groundwork Ohio River Valley and Green Umbrella explore the relationship between historically race-based housing segregation and the currently predicted impacts of climate change on the city's neighborhoods. Hence an effective community engagement to creating better policies and programs, that address inequality, to building resilient communities. Click for more information.

In Northern Kentucky, Groundwork Ohio River Valley and Green Umbrella are partnering with ReNewport for the City of Newport CSN workshop. Similarly collaborating with the City of Covington, Keep Covington Beautiful and Center for Great Neighborhoods for the City of Covington CSN workshop and partnering with Dayton Park Board for the City of Dayton CSN workshop.
